Prior to going on tour visitors are invited to explore the exhibition area. The historical documents, photographs and early mining equipment on display, trace 400 years of mining history in the area.The exhibition also demonstrate the impact the industry had on the local communities over the years.
The visitor can also watch a short film showing original mining footage recorded just weeks before the closure of the mines in 1990.
