What to Expect

Guided by Former Miners
Our experienced guides, who once worked in the mines, bring history to life through captivating real-life stories and demonstrations.

A Real Underground Adventure
Students step into a real coal mine and experience firsthand what life was like for miners who worked there for over 400 years.

Hands-On & Interactive Learning
Beyond the tour, students can explore exhibits, examine mining artifacts, and understand the impact of energy production on society.

Educational & Curriculum-Aligned
Our tours support history, geography, and STEM subjects, making learning exciting and relevant.

Booking Info

On arrival the children can explore the exhibition area and watch a 15 minute DVD about the mines.

Whether you’re planning a day out for your class, your year or your social club, we welcome groups of any size. However, all groups must pre-book by email or phone.

A discount applies to bookings of 20 people or more. There are ample coach parking facilities available.

Arigna Mining Experience can cater for all your meeting and conference requirements. Our dedicated room can cater for up to 50 attendees. All inhouse AV equipment is included in room hire cost. Our ample car-parking facilities which includes coach parking ensures that your meeting or conference will get off to a smooth start.
